North Star Nature Preserve SUP Instructional Tour

This is Aspen’s natural lazy river and is a perfect paddleboard outing. This mellow and scenic meandering river is home to many native animal species.

We had a blast on our fly fishing trip. 4 novices including kids 12 and 9 and we all caught multiple rainbow and brown trout. Trevor and Pat were very patient and knowledgeable as well. We had a great experience!

We did two rafting trips last week with Elk Mountain and they were brilliant!! Carter took us on the Upper Roaring Fork, he was great fun and taught us a lot about the river (ask him about the albino gophers). We did Slaughterhouse the following week with Curtis, who was incredibly skilled and experienced. They are a small outfit so the trips feel very personalized and tailored, with beers, chips and photos all included, even during locals week! We had a ball and I would highly recommend EME!!

We had an absolute blast on Slaughterhouse Falls! Our guide was Curtis and he did a great job bringing the stoke on some amazing Class 4 rapids. The route was a good balance of rapids and moments to rest but didn’t have long stretches of slow sections like I’ve had before on other white water rafting experiences. Before we were even done we were talking about coming back again next summer!

Elk Mountain Expeditions does a great job with their fly-fishing trips. The one I just went on was individualized for the current river and weather conditions. The guide knew the river like the back of his hand, we had a great time, and I caught a lot of trout! I highly recommend them.

We had a blast! They called very soon after we booked and helped us adjust our booking to something that worked out even better for us. We had Sam and Carter as our guide/driver combo and they were so great. They were friendly and very good with our kids. I loved learning about the river and wildlife while also having a ton of fun. Having the bus pick us up, and having all the gear, the pictures, and the drinks and snacks included made it so easy so we could just relax and enjoy the rafting. If we’re back in the area, we will 100% use EME again.

We love Elk Mountain Expeditions! We have done 5 rafting trips (class III - V) with them over two years, and all of them have been wonderful. The guides are kind, fun, and VERY good. We have brought along our older parents on class III, and the guides did a wonderful job to ensure they felt safe and secure while enjoying rafting for the first time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
